Keith
Chaput

Keith was born in Florida and raised by a single mom, and he watched her struggle every day to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads.

Before the Navy, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, where he saw what a union contract does for working people: fair pay, real benefits, and a voice on the job. Then he enlisted, and deployed four times, including to the Middle East, where he saw up close how cruel and pointless those wars are.

Today Keith and his wife are raising two boys, and they’ve felt the cost of child care firsthand. He’s running for Congress so families like his, and like the one he grew up in, can afford the American dream again.

Make the American dream affordable again

Working Floridians shouldn’t go broke getting sick or raising kids. And Washington won’t fix it until we get the money out and stop paying for endless wars.

Medicare for All

One public plan that covers everyone. Keep your doctor, and never lose coverage because you lost a job.

  • No premiums, deductibles or copays
  • Dental, vision, hearing and mental health included
  • Drug prices negotiated for the whole country

1965We already did this for Americans over 65. Let’s finish the job.

Universal child care

Every family gets a safe, good place for their kids while they work, at a price they can pay. Keith and his wife are raising two boys. They know what the daycare bill does to a family budget.

  • No family pays more than 7% of income
  • Universal pre-K for every 3- and 4-year-old
  • Living wages for child care workers

1943During World War II, Washington paid for child care so parents could work. We can do it again.

Get the money out

Since Citizens United in 2010, corporations and billionaires can spend without limit to buy our elections.

  • Overturn Citizens United with a constitutional amendment
  • Force dark-money groups to disclose their donors
  • Ban stock trading by members of Congress

No PACsThis campaign takes no corporate PAC money.

No more wars

Keith deployed four times, including to the Middle East. He knows who pays for war: the people who fight it, and taxpayers back home. The money we save should be spent here.

  • No war without a vote of Congress
  • Audit the Pentagon and end blank checks for contractors
  • Fully fund the VA and never privatize it

No more wars

“I deployed four times, including to the Middle East. I saw the cruelty of those wars up close, and how little they accomplished. The people who pay are the ones who fight, their families, and every taxpayer back home. I’m done sending both overseas.”

Congress declares war, not the president. I’ll vote to repeal the old war authorizations still being used today.

The Pentagon has never passed a full audit. No more blank checks while families here can’t afford daycare.

Keep the promise to veterans. Cut the VA claims backlog and protect the care we earned.
